LINEAR PERSPECTIVE

As you will find out on the video below PERSPECTIVE can be defined as a method of drawing three-dimensional objects in space on a two-dimensional surface to achieve the right impression of reality, depicting objects´sizes and positions in relation to each other.

This is a tutorial on how to draw a room on one point perspective.
We´ll draw a 16 m2 room using one point perspective. You can find examples on the presentation below.
P CÓNICA

Try to find the elements of One-Point Perspective on the picture on the left:
-Horizon line (H)
-Vanishing Point (VP)

Notice that there are only three types of lines:
Vertical lines, horizontal lines and diagonal lines.
Whilst vertical and horizontal lines look the same, diagonal ones seem to be crooked. They all meet at the vanishing point.

By clicking on the image you´ll acess a GeoGebra´s applet. You can interact with it and try to find the Vanishing point on famous Antonio López´s paintings.
Antonio López is one of the great figures of  the hyper-realist school.

The Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza is presenting an exhibition on a celebrated group of painters and sculptors of the same generation who have lived and worked in Madrid since the 1950s and who are united by their early training, their work and their personal and family ties: Antonio López García, María Moreno Julio and Francisco López Hernández, Esperanza Parada, Isabel Quintanilla and Amalia Avia.

The display has a thematic structure and includes 89 works, oil paintings, sculptures, reliefs and drawings, leading visitors from the domestic to the public; from the still life to the city; from the close-up, the small-scale and the near at hand to large formats and panoramic urban views. This is a thematic survey of the themes which all these artists depict: still lifes, domestic interiors, streets and coutyards, the human figure an the city of Madrid.
